The original focus of the Interbay Neighborhood Association was to get rezoning of 35 acres situated to the east of BNSF railroad tracks and to the west of 15th Ave. West. – West Dravus Street bounded by Emerson Street to the north and by the Interbay Golf Course to the south.
West Dravus Street serves to connect the hills of Magnolia and Queen Anne. Interbay sits adjacent to the Salmon Bay Marina and 44 acres of existing public playfields, golf course, P-patch and green space.
The City Council and the Interbay Neighborhood Association refer to this area as Interbay/Dravus. The INA also represents the needs of all residents, businesses and industries throughout the Interbay area.
The Interbay Neighborhood Association (INA) was formed in January 2005 by a group of business and property owners, for the purpose of exploring and encouraging thoughtful development of the Interbay neighborhood. The group has worked with Hewitt Architects to develop the Interbay Pilot Project through a Master Plan Concept.
The plan will preserve and enhance existing industrial properties, but also create a pedestrian-friendly residential village. The plan will pave the way for growth on neighborhood-style businesses, improved access to community parks, a variety of transit options and the creation of a safe, vital residential area. In the process, it would create a hospitable commercial intersection for the thousands of Magnolia and Queen Anne residents who pass through
on a daily basis.
INA CREATED TO IMPROVE OUR NEIGHBORHOOD
The Interbay Neighborhood Association (INA) is a group of business & property owners, businesses and concerned citizens who initially came together to better serve the Interbay/Dravus community. A coalition of Interbay stakeholders committed to improving the condition of their neighborhood formed the INA in January 2005. The group has been meeting for the past three years and is focused on change that would make Interbay an exciting environment that embraces industry, office, workloft residential and retail while retaining a focus on building Interbay as a community. It is the INA’s goal to create improvements in Interbay that enhance the quality of life, welcomes residents and neighbors to the community and preserves the area’s mixed industrial and commercial opportunities. The INA has developed a comprehensive neighborhood plan to guide and shepherd the area’s growth and future development.
INDUSTRY IS A VITAL PART OF INTERBAY
The INA is committed to supporting and enhancing opportunities for industrial job growth in Interbay.

The INA is committed to supporting and enhancing opportunities for industrial job growth in Interbay. Of the Interbay/Dravus land, 14.5 acres are zoned industrial (IG-2). The INA is dedicated to preserving industrial land and jobs, while providing housing in Interbay that the local workforce finds affordable.
Over the past 10 years, most of the job growth in Interbay has come from the technology and light manufacturing sectors. The owners of local industrial businesses have repeatedly expressed their desire to create a district where their employees would choose to live and their customers will be encouraged to visit.
INA industrial members support the establishment of a district that will sustain existing industry, encourage growth and create mixed-use residential development. The goal is to provide workforce housing that is both attractive and affordable to their employees—jobs near homes and homes near jobs.
